I have been going back and forth trying to decide the best format with the resources we currently have available that will offer the best experience for everyone. Despite my personal desires to have the White Course complete in time, it won’t be up to the standards that I expect a tournament course should be in. There is still a lot of work that needs to be completed in order for the course to be playable. In stead, we will focus our efforts and energies into making the Black Course World Class worthy by the time the Johnny Sias Championship rolls around. The White Course will be in the ground and playable but our attention will surround the Black Course.
Johnathon Poole asked me years ago to start with why, why am I hosting an event. Simple really. I want people to come and have a fantastic weekend filled with activities for everyone. That is why this year we will have one round Saturday with skills competitions afterward, the grand opening of the WV Disc Golf Hall of Fame and Museum, a player’s party, and nite golf. Sunday will be the second round followed but awards. For anyone wanting to stay Sunday afternoon, we will provide paintball and zip line rides.
I hope to see you Labor Day weekend!
